Social Security Summit 2024: Galilah Solusi Terbaik Sejahteraan Pekerja

JAKARTA - In order to support the government's goal of realizing the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan took part by encouraging economic growth through optimizing employment social security.

Behind the demographic bonus that is currently being enjoyed, various global challenges in the socio-economic sector that must be faced by the Indonesian people.

This ultimately prompted BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to hold SOCIAL SECURITY SUMMIT 2024 in the near future.

Director of Strategic Planning and IT BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Zainudin in his statement at the Road To SOCIAL press conference SECURITY SUMMIT 2024 said that in recent decades, many developing countries, including Indonesia, have faced major challenges known as middle income traps.

"This phenomenon occurs when middle-income countries stagnate and have difficulty transitioning to high-income status," said Zainudin, quoted on Thursday, November 21.

"One of the main factors that contribute to the middle income trap is the insufficiency of the social security system which is able to support inclusive and sustainable growth," he added.

This issue is also one of President Prabowo Subianto's main focuses. Through the idea of 'Together an Advanced Indonesia Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045' which is outlined in Asta Cita.

At point two in Asta Cita, President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the increasing quality employment opportunities, encouraging entrepreneurship, developing the creative industry, and continuing infrastructure development.

In order to make it happen, Zainudin assessed that proper policies were needed regarding employment social security, which was accompanied by synergies from various parties.

He believes this is able to encourage protection for all Indonesian workers and their families, thus encouraging increased worker productivity which leads to an increase in the nation's economy.

SOCIAL SECURITY SUMMIT 2024 is expected to be a discussion event that presents innovative solutions and collaborative strategies to overcome the challenges faced by middle-income countries.

"Through discussions involving the government, private sector, academics, and civil society organizations, concrete steps are expected to be identified to strengthen the social security system, increase economic competitiveness, and create fairer opportunities for all levels of society," explained Zainudin.

SOCIAL SECURITY SUMMIT 2024 is scheduled to be opened by President Prabowo Subianto, and was followed by a speech from the President Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Anggoro Eko Cahyo.

SOCIAL SECURITY SUMMIT 2024 will present various sources at the ministerial level as well as other competent resource persons such as economists, academics and business actors to discuss two major issues, namely "Joint Strategy to Get Out of the Middle Income Trap" and "Saving Middle Class and Vulnerable Groups for Golden Indonesia", and filled with panelists from the public sector, academics, and the business world.
