The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has ensured that the import of raw materials needed by PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk (SRIL) or Sritex will resume after being frozen in a tied area due to bankruptcy status.

Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza said that his party would monitor Sritex's operational condition which was still ongoing while waiting for the results of the cassation submission on the decision to cancel the PKPU homologation.

"Still waiting for the cassation. We will monitor Sritex," said Faisol when met at the Kota Kasablanka Mall, Jakarta, Thursday, November 14.

Meanwhile, Sritex's current bankruptcy has an impact on the blocking carried out by Customs and Excise to include and issue production necessities to the SRIL area. This also triggers difficulties in raw materials, so Sritex lays off 2,500 employees.

This condition will get worse if the business license is not immediately granted as a result of the ongoing cassation process at the Supreme Court (MA).

Meanwhile, Acting (Plt) Director General of Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Textile Industries (IKFT) of the Ministry of Industry, Reni Yanita, said that his party ensures that operations will continue and Sritex will not lay off its workers.

"Indeed, the raw materials for the fabric are waiting for the import process, that's all. Because it is bankrupt, Customs and Excise has immediately frozen the importation facilities," he said.

Reni did not deny that the export of imports of Sritex raw materials had affected the Goods Import Plan (RIB), so the impact was felt at this time. However, he believes the Customs and Excise has reopened the import route.

Thus, the supply of raw materials should be re-acceptable for the next few months. Reni also hopes that imports of raw materials can be made easier so that production continues and no employees are laid off.

"It has been opened. But, right, it also needs a process. If the road is like it used to be, right, there will no longer be a few days," he said.
