Visiting Ternate, Deputy Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources Explains Three Prabowo Priority Programs

TERNATE - Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung explained the three priority programs of the Red and White Cabinet formed by President Prabowo Subianto. He detailed the status of the priority program, including food security, energy security and downstream.

"Food security is how we can provide sufficient food for the community and also affordable prices for the community," said Yuliot in his remarks at the inauguration of One Price Fuel in Ternate, North Maluku, Wednesday, October 30.

Furthermore, energy security is related to the provision of sufficient energy for the community, both from fossil energy, including fuel oil and coal.

He further explained, related to the availability of domestic fuel oil, there has been a decrease in Indonesia's oil production rate from year to year. Unlike previous years, domestic oil production had touched 1.5 million barrels per day, while Indonesia's consumption rate was only 600,000 barrels.

"Meanwhile, the situation has reversed. Our daily needs are around 1.5 million barrels, while the domestic production rate is around 600,000 barrels," explained Yuliot.

To meet domestic needs, he continued, Indonesia must import 900,000 barrels of oil in the form of crude oil and fuel. For this reason, he said that the government is trying to reduce dependence on fuel oil originating from fossils by diversifying with new and renewable energy (EBT).

Finally, the third program is downstreaming. This third program, he said, requires all ministries related to downstreaming to the success of the downstream program.

"We see that North Maluku is an example of the success of the downstream program. Previously, North Maluku exported raw materials in the form of nickel ore, with the milirization program we produce from nickel There are two components, the first is nickel, the second is nickel cobalt," he continued.

With this downstream program, Yuliot said that the downstream investment flow for North Maluku from January to September 2024 reached IDR 55 trillion and succeeded in bringing North Maluku to become the province with the highest economic growth in the world in 2023.
