Ministry Of Finance Clarifies Deputy Minister Of Finance Anggito's Statement Regarding The Use Of Maung Official Cars

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) has opened its voice regarding the statement of Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Anggito Abimanyu regarding the use of Maung's car made by PT Pindad which will become the official vehicle for ministers and echelon I officials.

In a statement from the Ministry of Finance's Communication and Information Service Bureau, it was stated that Anggito's statement was delivered during the scientific oration of internal activities at the 15th Anniversary of Christmasis & Lustrum III Vocational School Universitas Gadjah Mada 2024 on Monday, October 28.

The Ministry of Finance explained that the statement was not in the context of policy planning, but in order to provide examples of the use of domestically produced goods in order to strengthen and support the domestic industry.

"The statement was conveyed not in the context of planning, but in order to provide an example of using domestic production as a spirit to strengthen and support the domestic industry," wrote a statement by the Ministry of Finance's clarification which was distributed, quoted Tuesday, October 29.

Previously, Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Anggito Abimanyu revealed that all levels of the Red and White Cabinet and echelon 1 would use domestically made cars and be prohibited from using imported cars as official vehicles in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

"Next week I will use the Maung car, the Pindad car is because Pak Prabowo has said, next week there will be no more imported goods for Echelon 1 cars with the Minister," said Anggito at the virtual 15th Anniversary & Lustrum III Vocational School Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Monday, October 28.

Anggito said that the vehicles that will be used by all levels of the Red and White Cabinet and echelon 1 have a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of 70 percent.

"Later, if you look at it, yesterday's Maung, Professor Sigit from ITB, who is the President Director of Pindad, he said he designed an Indonesian car. 70 percent of it is from domestic products," he said.

However, Anggito did not speak in more detail regarding the directive, but he asked the audience not to be surprised by the changes he experienced in which he obtained the Alphard brand official car facility, known for its luxury and comfort.

"I'm not euphoric either, I'm using Alphard now. But it's normal, you don't have to, well, that's great. No, it belongs to the state," said Anggito.
