JAKARTA - President Commissioner of the textile issuer PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk or Sritex (SRIL) Iwan Setiawan Lukminto visited the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) today, following the bankruptcy news that ensnared the company.
It is known, Iwan held a special meeting with the Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita to discuss the big plan to save the largest textile company in Southeast Asia.
Iwan admitted that he had received directions from the Minister of Industry so that everything would continue to run well.
"The direction of the Minister (Agus Gumiwang) must continue. Well, it must be operationally good," he said.
Iwan added, in the midst of this bad condition, the government has automatically intervened to help save. One of them is through providing incentives.
However, the incentive scheme cannot be disclosed directly. The reason will be included in the grand plan that has been discussed with the Minister of Industry.
"We are helping the government, the government is helping us. It is automatic, there is no need to be told or there is no need for instructions instead, yes," said Iwan.
"Later (the incentive plan) will all be outlined in a big strategy," he continued.
Meanwhile, Sritex currently has a workforce of 50,000 employees.
Iwan ensured that even though it was cut off by the Semarang District Court, the factory's operations were still running normally.
"Yes, we'll wait for the game date. So, the strategy is big, that's all. Timing hasn't come out yet, but it will be as soon as possible," said Iwan.
Previously, the government would make efforts to save Sritex after being declared bankrupt by the Semarang District Court (PN).
Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said rescue steps would be carried out according to President Prabowo Subianto's orders.
