Garuda Indonesia Charges Additional Costs To Choose Aircraft Seats Starting October 26

JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk will charge additional costs for passengers who want to choose airplane seats on domestic flights. This policy will take effect from 26 October.

"Starting October 26, 2024, we are implementing a new policy regarding seat selection on domestic flights," the company's official announcement said, quoted Thursday, October 24.

Garuda also stressed that domestic flights before October 26 would not follow the new policy.

"We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your trust and loyalty," the company wrote.

The following is Garuda Indonesia's new policy regarding seat selection:

First, seats with Extra Legroom such as seat row 21 and emergency seats will be charged an additional fee when booking tickets both online and offline.

Second, regular seat will be charged an additional fee when booking tickets both online and offline.

Third, you can choose a favorite chair with both Extra Legroom and Regular Seat according to preferences with the additional fees listed at the purchase.

Fourth, specifically for the purchase of seat row 21, it only applies to the left and right sides on aircraft with types B777 and A330.

Fifth, specifically for the purchase of emergency seats, only applies to the mid-side of the aircraft with types B777 and A330.
