JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM) noted that as many as 10 million MSME players had received the Business Identification Number (NIB) until September 2024.

This number has increased significantly compared to last year where the Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) has issued around 7.1 NIB until the end of 2023.

"Regarding NIB, we nationally have recorded 10 million MSMEs who have received this NIB," said Deputy for Micro Business at the Kemenkop UKM Yulius in a press conference at his office, quoted Wednesday, October 9.

Yulius said, of the 10 million business actors who already have NIB, the majority came from micro-scale businesses and the rest were only small business actors.

"(The majority) 98 percent is the micro-business scale, 2 percent is small businesses," he said.

For your information, NIB is an identification code that provides official recognition to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia.

NIB is the identity of business actors who function as legal protection and have many benefits for MSMEs, including to facilitate access to financing, such as People's Business Credit (KUR) to make it easier to manage certification, such as halal certification, SNI Bina UMK and a domestic industry food production certificate (SPP-IRT).
