JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation through the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ) officially handed over the assets of the Bojonggede Skybridge integration facility building to the Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab).

The handover was marked by the signing of a grant agreement and handover minutes carried out by the Secretary of BPTJ, Dedy Cahyadi, and the Acting (Pj) of the Bogor Regent, Bachril Bakri.

The event took place at the Bogor Regent's office, Cibinong, West Java, Friday, October 4. Also witnessed by the Acting Head of BPTJ, Suharto.

In his remarks, Acting Head of BPTJ Suharto said the Bojonggede Skybridge which was built to increase integration between transportation modes in the Bojonggede area is now fully the responsibility of the Bogor Regency Government in terms of its management and utilization.

Furthermore, Suharto also emphasized the importance of these facilities for transportation integration in Bogor.

"This submission is a tangible form of collaboration between BPTJ and the Bogor Regency Government to improve the quality of public transportation. The Bojonggede Skybridge facilitates passenger movement between KRL Stations and other modes of transportation, in the hope of encouraging people to use public transportation more and reduce congestion," Suharto said in an official statement, Friday, October 4.

Suharto said that the grant process had received approval from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.

"The value of this Skybridge building grant reaches Rp. 18.6 billion and we hope that the Bogor Regency Government can maximize the management of this facility to provide the maximum benefit to the community," he said.

In addition, Suharto also highlighted the importance of maintaining this facility by the Bogor Regency Government. He said the sustainability of operations and activities depended on good management.

Meanwhile, Acting Regent of Bogor Bachril Bakri expressed his appreciation to BPTJ for its support for the development of public transportation in Bogor.

"We are very grateful to BPTJ for this facility grant. The Bogor Regency Government is committed to continuing to improve transportation services, and Skybridge Bojonggede will be an important element in efforts to create integrated and comfortable transportation for residents," Bachril said.

Bachril also revealed that the Bogor Regency Government will soon draw up a long-term utilization plan for Skybridge, including the addition of supporting facilities to increase user comfort.
