The Export Of Indonesian Fisheries Products To Russia Is Only 11.54 Million US Dollars, Losing To India

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) said that the export of Indonesian fishery products to Russia was still inferior to other countries.

In fact, Russia is considered to be the share of exports of large fishery products.

Director General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products (PDSPKP) Budi Sulistyo said that one of Indonesia's leading commodities to export to Russia is shrimp.

However, the country that contributed greatly to supplying shrimp to Russia was India.

In fact, based on the data he presented, it was stated that Indonesia was in fifth position with a contribution of 3.3 percent.

"Because so far India has a value of 157.49 million US dollars or around 44.9 percent of Russia's total shrimp imports. Then followed by Ecuador there are 125.74 million US dollars or 35 percent. Then followed again Argentina 31.80 million US dollars or 9.1 percent. Next is China, 20.09 million US dollars or 5.7 percent. Meanwhile, Indonesia is in fifth place with a value of 11.54 million US dollars or 3.3 percent," Budi said at a press conference at the KKP office, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 24.

The same thing also happened in seaweed commodities. Budi said China was ranked first in supplying seaweed commodities to Russia with a contribution of 46.3 percent.

Followed by South Korea with a contribution of 30 percent and followed by the Philippines 11.41 percent.

Meanwhile, Indonesia occupies the fourth position with a contribution of around 4.1 percent.

"The next commodities that become one major import by Russia are squid, sotong, octopus. The countries that supply squid, sotong, octopuses to Russia are China with a value of 7.21 million US dollars or 80 percent of total imports. Followed by Peru with a contribution of 13.7 percent and Morocco at the 3rd rank of around 1.6 percent. Indonesia is in fourth place. This is certainly related to the things that our strategy for now can increase exports there," said Budi.

To overcome this, Budi said that his party had met with industry players processing fishery products who controlled the market market of more than 80 percent in Russia.

On that occasion, his party provided the commodities needed, one of which was shrimp and tuna cut. In the near future, his party will immediately send samples there.

"The open market share is quite large there, it is shrimp which is one hundred in size. We are preparing parallel work problems so that later the umbrella will exist, we can add registration there and the product will be known. We are now (preparing) the last stage needed by their industry, which is clear. shrimp and tuna," he concluded.
