Celebrate The 47th Anniversary, BPJS Employment Holds A Journalistic Contest To Increase Awareness Of Social Protection

JAKARTA - In commemoration of the 47th Anniversary, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan officially announced the implementation of the 2024 Journalistic Writing Contest which will be held from September 2024 to November 2024.

This competition was held to reward journalists and to encourage the spread of information educating the public about the importance of protecting employment social security and the risks faced by workers. By raising the theme "Best Contribution to Worker Welfare," the competition aims to explore and highlight real contributions in improving workers' welfare through social security.

BPJS Employment Deputy for Communication Oni Marbun in his statement to the press said that holding this writing competition was a form of his appreciation for the role of journalists who had worked hard to spread information and education about the importance of protecting employment social security.

"We really appreciate the role of journalists, especially in helping us convey the importance of protecting employment social security. All Indonesian workers from sabang to Merauke must be educated together to protect employment social security. This competition is a form of our appreciation as well as we hope to strengthen the synergy between BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and the media or journalists themselves," explained Oni Marbun, Monday, September 23.

This Journalism Writing Contest is also a form of appreciation from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan for the role of journalists who have worked hard to spread information and education about the importance of protecting employment social security. Through this competition, BPJS hopes to strengthen the synergy between BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and the media and raise public awareness about their rights and protection.

In the 2024 Journalism Writing Competition, an assessment will be carried out by a jury consisting of leading experts and practitioners in their field. The jury includes Muhammad Zuhri, Chairman of the BPJS Employment Council, who is known for his experience and in-depth knowledge of employment policies.

In addition, Budiman Tanuredjo, a senior journalist with a high reputation for his expertise and contribution in the media world, will participate. Timboel Siregar, an expert in social and labor security, will also join as a jury, who has an in-depth understanding of the social protection system.

This competition includes three main categories. For Hardnews' Online Media category, the jury will assess the news that presents up-to-date and accurate information about employment social security. The Online Feature Media Category will evaluate in-depth articles that review the stories and impacts of social security on workers' lives.

Meanwhile, the Hardnews Print Media category will assess print news that presents the latest facts and data regarding the policies and benefits of BPJS Employment. Each category is designed to appreciate and highlight the important contribution of journalists in disseminating information about employment social protection.
