Regarding The Merger Of BUMN Karya, Erick Thohir: Wait For The Approval Letter Of The Minister Of PUPR

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir revealed the progress of the BUMN merger. He said that currently his party is still waiting for approval from the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono.

Erick said that his party had sent a letter regarding the planned merger of BUMN works to Basuki.

"We are still waiting for the consolidation of the work that is on the desk of the Minister of PUPR, we'll just have to wait," he said when met at Mandiri Digital Tower, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 18.

However, Erick said that although the letter from Basuki was completed in the near future, the merger of BUMN works could not be completed before the change of government.

"(BUMN) works (still) waiting for a letter. But even if the letter goes down, it's not too fast (before the change of government)," he said.

For your information, the Ministry of SOEs plans to merge or merge BUMN works from seven to three. The merger targets seven state-owned companies, namely PT Adhi Karya Tbk; PT Hutama Karya, PT Waskita Karya Tbk; PT Pembangunan Perumahan Tbk; PT Wijaya Karya Tbk; PT Brantas Abipraya; and PT Nindya Karya.

As previously reported, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) will accelerate the process of consolidating state-owned companies in the work sector. This corporate action has also been agreed with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).

Secretary of the Ministry of SOEs, Rabin Indrajad Hattari, revealed that currently the merger of BUMN works, namely PT Hutama Karya (Persero) and PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk. (WSKT) is being pursued so that it can be carried out this year.

"The merger, if I'm not mistaken, is now being seen, especially for HK and Waskita, the process will be seen later, it will be seen that there is a timeline that we must first agree with PUPR," he said when met at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building, Jakarta, Thursday, August 22.

Rabin also said that this corporate action had also been agreed upon by the relevant ministries, namely, the Ministry of PUPR. He said that later, HK will play the role of parent of Waskita.

"It has been (agreed), with Mr. Bas (Minister of PUPR Basuki) and the Minister of SOEs (Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir). Now we have to set again about the timing, because we have to look at HK's healthy bookkeeping with Waskita," he explained.
