Alfamart, A Retail Company Owned By Djoko Susanto Earned Revenue Of IDR 175 Trillion In 2020

JAKARTA - Alfamart retail manager, PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk is a lucky company because it is still able to score a positive performance in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company coded AMRT shares recorded an increase in sales in the 2020 financial year.

Quoted from Alfamart's financial report published on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) website, Tuesday, March 30, this company owned by conglomerate Djoko Susanto earned IDR 75.83 trillion in revenue, a slight increase of 3.95 percent compared to the achievement in 2019 which was valued at IDR 72.94 trillion.

Sales of non-food items were observed to increase by the highest by 8.25 percent yoy to IDR 25.52 trillion from the previous IDR 23.57 trillion. Meanwhile, food sales grew 1.90 percent year on year (yoy) to IDR 50.26 trillion from IDR 49.32 trillion previously.

However, the company owned by the 19th richest person in Indonesia recorded an increase in the expense account. As a result, Alfamart's net profit fell 4.58 percent to IDR 1.06 trillion in 2020, compared to 2019's achievement of IDR 1.11 trillion.

Alfamart's total assets were recorded at IDR 25.97 trillion at the end of 2020. This figure grew 8.24 percent compared to the end of 2019 valued at IDR 23.99 trillion.

Letting Go of Alfatrex

Alfamart plans to divest all of its shares in PT Sumber Wahana Sejahtera (PT SWS), or better known as Alfatrex.

"The company has signed an indicative term sheet with one of them, PT Galaxy Mitra Global (PT GMG) in connection with the company's share ownership in PT SWS. Currently, the company has 99.96 shares and controls in PT SWS", said Tomin Widian, Director of Sumber Alfaria Trijaya, quoted from the information disclosure page of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), Friday, March 26.

It was explained that PT GMG would take over PT SWS and become the new controller at PT SWS. So that when the transaction is completed, Alfamart will no longer be in control of PT SWS.

"The execution of the transaction depends on fulfilling the prerequisite conditions as specified in the term sheet", explained Tomin Widian.

However, the details of the transactions between Alfamart and PT Galaxy Mitra Global are not yet known.
