Sad News, Senior Economist Indef Faisal Basri Dies At The Age Of 65

JAKARTA - Senior Economist of the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (Indef) Faisal Basri passed away on Thursday morning, September 4, at around 03.50 WIB.

Faisal Basri breathed his last at Mayapada Hospital, Kuningan, South Jakarta, at the age of 65.

"Yes, it's true (died), I got news from his son," said Indef Director Tauhid Ahmad when contacted by VOI, Thursday, September 4.

When asked further what caused Faisal Basri's death, Tauhid did not know for sure.

"I don't know yet. Here are 15 minutes to go there," he added.

The plan is that Faisal Basri's body will first go to the funeral home at the South Jakarta Bullet Warehouse Complex.

Faisal Basri's body will be prayed after Asar at the Az Zahra Mosque, South Jakarta Bullet Warehouse.

Apart from being an economist who is known to actively provide input to the government, Faisal Basri has also been a politician and lecturer at the University of Indonesia.

Until now, it is not known what illness Faisal Basri suffered before he finally breathed his last.
