PLTA Jatigede 110 MW In Sumedang Regency Ready To Operate PLN

SUMEDANG - PT PLN (Persero) has confirmed that it will soon operate the Jatigede Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) in Sumedang Regency, West Java.

Just so you know, this hydropower plant has a capacity of 2\times 55 megawatts (MW) and has entered the final stages of development.

Plh. General Manager of PLN Central Java Development Main Unit (UIP JBT), Achmad Ismail, revealed that the Jatigede hydropower plant has completed the performance test and reliability run stages in Unit 1 and Unit 2.

This plant has also obtained an Operational LIKE Certificate (SLO) after it has been proven to be able to operate efficiently, safely, according to design, and reliable without unexpected interference.

"Development of the Jatigede hydropower plant, which is currently entering the Commercial Operation Date (COD) stage, we ask for prayers so that this process can run smoothly so that customers can consume clean energy immediately," said Ismail, quoted Wednesday, September 4.

Present at the same time, PLN Unit Manager for the Central Java 2 Project, Husni Wardhana, explained that PLN has also succeeded in accelerating the Jatigede PLTA SLO from what was originally targeted for completion in October 2024, but was obtained in June 2024.

The original target was the issuance of the SLO in October 2024 and that was only for one unit. However, this June, we managed to get two direct SLOs for both units, "explained Husni.

In addition, Husni also ensured that the construction of a transmission network for electricity distribution from the Jatigede hydropower plant had been completed and would distribute electricity through the 150 kiloVolt (kV) High Voltage Air Line (SUTT) Jatigede Incomer Line 1 to the 150 kV New Kadipaten Substation and 150 kV SUTT Jatigede Incomer Line 2 to the 150 kV New Sunyaragi Substation.

"Regarding the distribution of power from the Jatigede hydropower plant, it will be distributed through SUTT 150 kV Jatigede Incomer, which at the end of August was also successfully carried out by energy (first voltage). This means that the construction work has been completed and is just waiting for the COD process," concluded Husni.
