JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, revealed Bali's latest condition.

Luhut said that currently there are more than 200,000 foreigners living in Bali. According to him, this must have caused several problems.

"From the data I read, there are more than 200,000 foreigners living in Bali today. This has certainly caused several problems, ranging from criminal issues to reduced employment opportunities for local residents," Luhut wrote on his official Instagram account @luhut.pandjaitan, quoted on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

With this condition, Luhut ensured that the Government would take action to fix tourism governance on the Island of the Gods.

"We will conduct audits and arrangements, starting from waste management and waste management. Then, plan to improve infrastructure and create a green tourist destination by implementing the rules for using new and renewable energy (EBT), both electrical energy for operations and motorized vehicles used there," he said.

He added that Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will reach 2.5 to 3 trillion US dollars by 2030 and is predicted to increase the number of middle class in the country.

According to Luhut, this will simultaneously create local and domestic tourists who are also very important to pay attention to, not only bringing in foreign tourists.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs further revealed that his party wanted Bali to be like before. He did not want Bali to be famous just for its panorama, but also for its culture.
