JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) educates women who are micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to increase public financial literacy and inclusion because women and MSME actors play an important role in improving the community's economy.

"Ladies and gentlemen, when we use financial products and services, first women must understand first. Because there are so many of them out there who are targeting us to deceive us," said Chief Executive of the Behavior Supervisory of Financial Services Business Actors, Education and Protection of OJK Consumers Friderica Widyasari Dewi in Jakarta, Saturday.

Friderica emphasized the importance of financial literacy to the public, especially to the women group of MSME actors, so that they can take advantage of legal financial product and services services to improve the family's economy.

In addition, according to him, financial literacy is important so that people avoid illegal online loan offers and fraud under the guise of investment.

"If we use the right financial products and services, don't use illegal financial products and services. Women must be financial intelligent, yes, they must be smart in managing family finances, they must be able to protect themselves and their families from various modes of fraud for a prosperous future," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Senior Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Destry Damayanti said it was important to be careful in conducting financial transactions, especially digitally.

"Bank Indonesia invites mothers to always be sensitive to financial transactions, namely by caring and knowing very well what is being done and also recognizing what the transaction is for, if there is anything, don't be afraid to speak up to be reported to the complaint center numbers," he said.
