Minister Basuki: If You Don't Want To Move To IKN, You Will Lose

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) is better than the areas of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi (Jabodetabek). The Acting (Plt) Head of the IKN Authority also said that IKN is a luxury city.

"If the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) does not want to move to IKN, it will be a loss," said Basuki at the ASN Talent Fest 2024 & ASN 2023 event quoted from the PAN-RB Ministry YouTube channel, Tuesday, August 27.

"In Jakarta, Jabodetabek, life will be more difficult," he continued.

The reason is, Basuki said, the time that ASN spent working in Jabodetabek was longer than IKN. As an illustration, workers leaving for work in Jabodetabek generally starts at 06.00 am. However, his return can be at 21.00 pm.

Meanwhile at IKN, he continued, ASN can go to work only with a travel time of 10 minutes. In addition, he said IKN has good air quality and water.

"So, there the water quality at level 6 is very healthy. Our children in Jakarta, Jabodetabek, are prone to disease. But there are 6, very, very healthy," said Basuki.

"And for your future career, it's in IKN," he added.

The Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) revealed that the possibility of the first wave of ASN moving to Nusantara, East Kalimantan, will begin in September 2024.

The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan-RB) stated that the gradual transfer of ASN to IKN from this year to 2029 through three priorities.

The government prioritizes ASN who control digital literacy to be transferred to IKN.
