Minister Of Agriculture Amran: Additional Budget Of IDR 68 Trillion To Print 1 Million Hectare Rice Fields

JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Amran Sulaiman revealed that the proposed additional budget for 2025 of IDR 68 trillion was intended to produce one million hectares of rice fields.

"The Ministry of Agriculture proposes an additional IDR 68 trillion budget which will be used to print 1 million hectares of rice fields, optimize 600,000 hectares of agricultural intensification and modernization, provide free milk, nutritious food yards, and others," Amran said at the Commission IV Working Meeting of the DPR RI in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, August 26.

According to him, taking into account the number of budget ceilings allocated to date for the Ministry of Agriculture is still very limited, of course it will be difficult to significantly encourage the increase in food production in 2025.

"For this reason, we ask for support from all leaders and members of Commission IV of the DPR RI so that the budget ceiling at the Ministry of Agriculture in 2025 can increase," he said.

The Ministry of Agriculture's budget ceiling for 2025 is set at IDR 7.91 trillion, with details of the program budget, namely the Availability Program for Access and Quality Food Consumption of IDR 2.73 trillion, the Added Value and Industrial Competitiveness Program IDR 1.61 trillion, the Vocational Education and Training Program IDR 658.64 billion, and the Management Support Program IDR 2.9 trillion.

Meanwhile, the details of the budget ceiling of each echelon one of 2025 are as follows by the Secretariat General Rp1.12 trillion, Inspectorate General Rp58.24 billion, Directorate General (Ditjen) of Food Crops Rp1.02 trillion, Directorate General of Horticulture Rp902.9 billion.

Then the Directorate General of Plantation 407.2 billion, the Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health (PKH) Rp1.25 trillion, the Directorate General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities (PSP) Rp1.08 trillion, the Standardization and Agricultural Instruments Agency Rp1.129 trillion, and the Agricultural HR Counseling and Development Agency Rp932.24 billion.

Meanwhile, in 2025 the Ministry of Agriculture targets the main commodity production as well as 32 million tons of rice production, 16.68 million tons of corn, 350,000 tons of soybeans, 3,08 million tons of chilies, 1.99 million tons of shallots, 772,000 tons of coffee, 641.4 thousand tons of cocoa, 36.04 million tons of sugar cane, 2.88 million tons of coconut, 399.41 thousand tons of buffalo beef, and 4.34 million tons of chicken meat.

For information, the Government has prepared a budget of IDR 124.4 trillion in the 2025 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget Draft (APBN) to strengthen food security.

The budget will be rolled out, such as for the pre-production, production, distribution to marketing side. From the pre-production side, the budget will be used for the assistance of fishing gear as many as 10 thousand units, fertilizer subsidies 8.5 9.5 million tons, agricultural tools and machinery assistance 1,012 units, fish seed assistance 131.6 million heads, food seed assistance 2,267 hectares, agricultural people's business loans (KUR), and warehouse residy subsidies.

Meanwhile, in terms of production, the budget is allocated to food estate programs in Central Kalimantan, North Sumatra, and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Then, also for the printing of 250 thousand hectares of rice fields, the development of 485 thousand hectares of rice area, 250 thousand hectares of corn area, 12 dams, 17 thousand hectares of immigration network, 20.4 square kilometers of productive food farming, and 1 million hectares of agricultural insurance.

On the distribution side, the budget is used for logistical port needs, 49,782 kilometers of roads, toll road access, trains, five airport finalizations, regional roads, cold storage, and farming business roads.

Furthermore, the budget for marketing is used for government food reserves, food reserves subsidies, food supply stability and prices, low-cost food movements in 39 locations, people's market revitalization, and MSME KUR.
