JAKARTA - As a form of commitment to improve the welfare of people throughout Indonesia through the Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL), PT Dana Tabungan dan Asuransi Pegawai Negeri (Persero) (TASPEN) is again participating in the 2024 Batch VI BUMN (RBB) Volunteer Program which will be held on August 15-17, 2024.

At RBB Batch VI 2024, TASPEN had the opportunity to host together with Garuda Indonesia and AirNav Indonesia in Hilisimaetano Village, South Nias Regency, North Sumatra with the theme Nias Aine Tafajawa or Nias Bangkit Kembali. This RBB program this time invites as many as 10 selected volunteers from 10 state-owned companies who will be involved in 12 activities that have a direct impact on the community by reviving village potential, embracing traditions, and creating new sustainable economic opportunities.

TASPEN's Corporate Secretary, Pudiastuti Citra Adi, said the RBB Batch VI program was a real action by TASPEN to revive the traditions, values and identities of Hilisimaetano Village which was rich in culture and the value of social life, through collaboration with other SOEs.

"This program provides opportunities for BUMN employees to be directly involved in various social activities, which aim to build personal character, develop human resources through the implementation of AKHLAK, and increase their contribution to the nation and state," he said, in a written statement, Saturday, August 24.

The RBB program is a collaboration initiative between SOEs that provides opportunities for all BUMN employees to volunteer in efforts to restore cultural heritage, strengthen tourism, develop village potential, embrace traditions, and create new sustainable economic opportunities.

The RBB batch VI program in Hilisimaetano Village, Nias Regency this time was attended by 10 SOEs consisting of PT Pegadaian company, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) TBk, PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk, PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero), PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk, PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, PT Guarantee Kredit Indonesia.

Hilisimaetano Village was chosen as the location for the 2024 Batch VI RBB Program because it is one of the largest rice barns in the Nias Islands, with the majority of the population working as rice fields, rubber plantations, and coconut plantations.

Since Omo Sebua (large house) was demolished after the earthquake, Hilisimaetano Village has no more icons/landmarks. In addition, the people of Hilisimaetano Village are very rarely published about their potential, especially the potential for tourism in the village. For this reason, in the RBB batch VI program, Hilisimaetano Village, volunteers are involved in various activities, such as providing environmentally friendly lighting, providing school facilities and infrastructure assistance, providing assistance in making village websites, assisting optimizing MSME products, making tourist village branding boards, training content creators for tourist villages, and training BUMDES management.

This RBB program is expected to be one of the ongoing initiatives, providing significant benefits for the community throughout Indonesia. This is in line with the direction of the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, who wants BUMN employees to be able to make real and best contributions to society and the nation. With this spirit, TASPEN continues to be committed to being present in the community to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development goal for Advanced Indonesia by 2045.

In carrying out the TJSL program, TASPEN has carried out various village developments and arrangements such as the Ulos Tourism Village in Pangururan District, Samosir Regency, North Sumatra Province and Andal Taspen Village (Kampung Atas) in Melati Wangi Village, Cilengkrang District, Bandung Regency by building several public facilities, carrying out community development activities, and holding management training for local residents.

This is expected to attract the enthusiasm of tourists to visit the Ulos and Kampung Atas Tourism Villages, so that it can have positive implications for the growth of the MSME economy ecosystem as well as the Indonesian Government's Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP).
