JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said the auction for the Demak-Tuban Toll Road project would begin in early 2025.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of PUPR Endra S. Atmawidjaja said this was in accordance with the target targeted by the Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono.

"The target of Pak (Basuki) yesterday should have started the auction in early 2025," said Endra, written on Friday, August 23.

Endra said that the construction of this project would first focus on the construction of the toll road from Demak to Pati.

Because, when viewed from the consumer demand side, the development of land infrastructure is fairly urgent.

"If Demak-Pati from the demand side is urgent. Because, right, we already have a network until Demak. Next year, hopefully, it will be finished from Demak to the east again," he said.

He added that the construction of the Trans Java Toll Road continued project would be carried out in stages.

"Right, Pati is also far away, it's just gradual. It's really jammed in the north, right. We went down from Semarang to Solo, the north, right, also stuck. So from the side of the study, we need (toll road construction), the IRR has already been out 11 percent, it's just a matter of how to execute it, "explained Endra.

In addition, said Endra, the Ministry of PUPR has also made a master plan or master plan for the continued construction of the Trans Java Toll Road during the upcoming Prabowo administration.

"Demak, Kudus, Pati, it's 247 kilometers (km) to Gresik. This has been programmed to be completed until 2029," he concluded.
