JAKARTA - Pertamina is collaborating with Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific HQ for the development of the hydrogen ecosystem in Indonesia.

Pertamina's Director of Strategy, Portfolio, and Business Development Salyadi Dariah Saputra said Pertamina had mapped 17 locations of hydrogen supply sources spread from Sumatra to Papua. Currently Pertamina is also developing a green hydrogen pilot project in the Ulubelu geothermal area with a production target of 100 kg per day.

Downstream, Pertamina is also building a pilot project for the Hydrogen Fuel Filling Station (SPBH) in Daan Mogot, West Jakarta which will be the first integrated energy remune station in Indonesia.

Later, this SPBH will provide three types of fuel in one charging station, namely fuel, gas, and hydrogen.

"Development of hydrogen will be one of the clean energy business portfolios in the future and has the potential to make Indonesia a major player in the region," said Salyadi, Thursday, August 22.

Salyadi added that the development of green hydrogen will become a world trend and can become one of Pertamina's future businesses. Hydrogen development requires large investment and regulatory support from the Government so that the hydrogen ecosystem in the transportation sector can be built properly.

"Pertamina welcomes the collaboration with Hyundai Motor Company and this collaboration is expected to encourage efforts to decarbonize and use clean energy in the transportation sector," he added.

Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific Headquarters President Sunny Kim, as a representative of Hyundai Motor Company, strengthened the joint vision between the two companies.

The partnership with Pertamina aims to advance hydrogen implementation in the transportation sector in Indonesia. We hope to achieve a sustainable future and be able to contribute to the energy transition in the region together," Sunny said.
