Approved By Sri Mulyani, Budget For The Instruction Of Drinking Water Instruments Of IDR 696 Billion Ready To Disburse

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will soon realize Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2024 concerning the Acceleration of Drinking Water Supply and Domestic Waste Management Services.

For this year, the implementation budget of IDR 696 billion has been approved.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati had approved the budget for the 2024 Inpres of Drinking Water and Sanitation of IDR 696 billion.

"The Presidential Instruction, right, already exists. IDR 696 billion has just been approved by the Minister of Finance (Sri Mulyani)," said Basuki at a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission V of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 21.

Basuki said that the existence of this Inpres of Drinking Water and Sanitation was to encourage the use of the Water Processing Installation (IPA).

One of these is through the installation of house connections (SR) to the link.

"The Presidential Instruction of Drinking Water and Wastewater are used to utilize the IPA-IPA that we have built," he said.

Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially signed Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2024 concerning the Acceleration of Drinking Water Supply and Domestic Waste Management Services or better known as the Presidential Instruction of Drinking Water and Sanitation.

The Presidential Instruction is known to take effect from January 29, 2024.

In its regulation, Jokowi instructed nine ministries and institutions to accelerate the fulfillment of the provision of drinking water and sanitation.

"It is necessary to accelerate the provision of drinking water and domestic waste water management services as an effort to support the achievement of the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) target and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," wrote the regulation, quoted on Friday, February 2.

The Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 2024 is addressed to the minister of national development planning/head of the national development planning agency (PPN/Bappenas), the minister of public work and public housing (PUPR), the minister of finance (Menkeu) and the minister of interior (Mendagri).

Then, for the Minister of Health (Menkes), the minister of the environment and forestry, the head of the financial and development supervisory agency (BPKP), governors and regents/mayors.
