Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said avtur was not the only factor that caused the high price of airplane tickets. However, there are other factors.

"Yes, that's it, there are many factors. We're talking about which costs we can lower, such as spare parts and fuel prices," Luhut said in Jakarta, quoted on Tuesday, August 20.

On the other hand, the government has also formed a Supervision Committee for National Aviation Transport Ticket Prices to evaluate the components of aircraft ticket fees.

Furthermore, Luhut said, the process of decreasing aircraft ticket prices will be completed in August 2024.

"It's in the process. It's still working and I don't think so this month. This month the process should be (completed)," said Luhut.

For your information, the price of domestic flight tickets has recently been higher when compared to international destinations. This condition is also in the public spotlight, even some netizens complain about the high cost of domestic flight tickets.

Based on searches on online travel agents (OTA), domestic ticket prices for the Jakarta-Men and August 31 departure route with AirAsia airlines are priced at IDR 1,372,946 for one trip.

Meanwhile, international tickets for the Jakarta-Singapore route are on the same date and the same airline is priced at IDR 1 million.
