First Meeting As Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources, Bahlil Gives Directions To The Director General Of EBTKE Regarding The EBET Bill To Bioenergy

JAKARTA - Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE), Eniya Listiani Dewi, revealed that she received directions in the first leadership meeting with the new Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia.

It is known that today Bahlil Lahadalia held a leadership meeting (rapim) with staff at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Eniya explained, in the rapid which was held in the Sarulla Room of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Eniya said that he was asked to accelerate the realization of the Draft New Energy Law on Renewable Energy (RUU EBET).

Earlier it was a matter of law. The bill (EBET) must be resolved immediately. This is still not scheduled for another trial, right. That's what he also asked for it to be accelerated," said Eniya to the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Tuesday, August 20.

Not only the EBET Bill, Eniya said that he also received directions regarding bioenergy which was a priority to be resolved immediately. The thing that must be accelerated from bioenergy is the application of fuel oil (BBM) with a mixture of palm oil with a concentration of 40 percent or B40.

"Bioenergy will be a priority too. And maybe not only B50, we are still preparing B40 for mandatory yes. I will issue Mandatory InsyaAllah this is already small on January 1, 2025," explained Eniya.

Eniya also said that currently EBTKE is preparing a number of supporting infrastructures such as ports, shipping and logistics for the smooth implementation of mandatory bioenergy.

"The industry must prepare this. Investment will need capital too. Now we give time to prepare until December," he said.

Furthermore, EBTKE is also reviewing the application of Biodiesel materials with a level of 50 percent or B50. For now, B50 has been tested by the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

It does not stop until B50, EBTKE also has a target of mixing palm oil with fuel with a level of 60 percent or B60

"Well, this needs a study, indeed there must be a technical study. So technical studies of performance in engines are the most important thing," concluded Eniya.
