BRMS Ensures Its Subsidiary PT DPM Continues Its Business Activities

JAKARTA - PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk. (BRMS) announced the decision of the Supreme Court (MA) regarding the decision letter on the Feasibility of Environment and Forestry to the company's business unit, PT Dairi Prima Mineral (PT DPM).

In that decision, the Supreme Court granted the appeal from the plaintiff's residents. However, PT DPM is committed to continuing its business activities in accordance with applicable permits.

Bumi Resources Mineral Director and Corporate Secretary, Muhammad Sulthon said, PT Dairi Prima Mineral (DPM) respects the Supreme Court's decision. However, PT DPM will carry out extraordinary legal remedies (such as a review (PK) of State Administrative Cases (PTUN) in the Supreme Court and other legal remedies), due to evidence showing that the community around the PT DPM mine site in Longkotan Village has given full support for the construction of PT DPM mining and requested that PT DPM mines be operational immediately.

Because this contradicts the plaintiff's claim that the community around the PT DPM mine site rejected PT DPM's operations. In this case, the plaintiffs are 4 residents of Bongkaras Village, 6 residents of Pandiangan Village, and 1 resident of Lae Panginuman Village.

"The Bongkaras Village is included in the nature of the mining girth village of PT DPM, while Pandiangan Village and Lae Panginuman Village are not included in the mining ring village of PT DPM. The plaintiff in filing his lawsuit was assisted by YDPK, Bakumsu, Petrasa, and foreign NGOs (Inclusive Development International)," said Muhammad Sulthon in his official statement quoted from IDX information disclosure, Friday, August 16.

He admitted that a new study of the PT DPM mine stated that the waste treatment facilities that PT DPM will build will emphasize environmentally friendly aspects.

Then, PT DPM will prioritize environmental sustainability and safety of Dairi residents around the mine site in its operation, in accordance with applicable regulations and laws.

He continued, until the disclosure of this information, PT DPM had not yet received an official copy of the decision from the Supreme Court.

"In principle, PT DPM will continue to make the necessary efforts, in order to carry out the DPM project in accordance with applicable permits," he concluded.
