These Are The 10 Largest National Oil And Gas Manufacturers In 2024

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif revealed 20 companies with the highest oil and gas production throughout 2024.

Based on data as of June 30, the first position for oil producers is still occupied by Pertamina Huku Rokan which produces 157,226 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).

Just so you know, this number is lower than the lift in the previous year which reached 161,623 BOPD.

The second position is occupied by an oil and gas company from the US, ExxonMobil Cepu, which has succeeded in producing 143,964 BOPD. The third position is occupied by Pertamina EP which produces 66,468 BOPD, then Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) of 25,527 BOPD.

The fifth position is occupied by Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ) with 24,962 achievements and the sixth position is occupied by PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore South East Sumatra (PHE OSES) which managed to produce 19,855 BOPD.

Meanwhile, the oil and gas company from China, Petrochina Jabung, produced 14,652 and occupied the seventh position, followed by Pertamina Hulu Sanga-sanga with a production of 10,580 BOPD.

The ninth and tenth positions are still occupied by Medco E&P Natuna and a subsidiary of Petronas, PC Ketapang II with 9,991 BOPD and 8,770 BOPD. Meanwhile, other KKKS produced 96,295 BOPD.

Thus, the total lifting until June 2024 was recorded at 578,272 BOPD.

As for gas production, the first position is occupied by BP Berau with a production of 1,745 MMSCFD and followed by Pertamina EP which produces 813.88 MMSCFD.

The third position is occupied by the company owned by the late Arifin Panigoro, Medco E&P Grissik, which managed to produce 748.26 MMSCFD.

Italian gas company ENI East Sepinggan occupies the fourth position with production of 461.48 MMSCFD.

Then Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) managed to produce 426.50 MMSCFD.

Pertamina Medco Tomori is in sixth position with production of 329.00 MMSCFD.

Petrochina Jabung is entrenched in seventh position with a production of 253.12 MMSCFD, followed by Husky CNOOC Madura which managed to produce 207.37 MMSCFD.

The ninth and tenth positions were occupied by ENI Muara Bakau and Pertamina EP Cepu, which produced 187.25 MMSCFD and 187.24 MMSCFD, respectively.

The other KKKS managed to distribute gas up to 1,276.86 MMSCFD.

Thus, the total production of Indonesian gas until the end of June is 6,635.99 MMSCFD.

"Pertamina is the focus to increase production through the upstream oil and gas policy because it dominates national oil production by 57 percent and gas by 32 percent," said ESDM Minister Arifin in a joint media discussion at the General Oil and Gas Directorate Building, Friday, August 2.

According to him, currently Indonesia manages the old field the most and finds many new oil field prospects.

As for gas, he admitted that there was a downward trend in gas production, but now there is an increase in production.

"So if the target is 1 million barrels 2030, we will make efforts. We can find 12 TCF gas, God willing," concluded Arifin.
