JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that Indonesia's import value in June 2024 reached 18.45 billion US dollars, down 4.89 percent compared to May 2024 which reached 19.40 billion US dollars.

Acting Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said that the value of oil and gas imports in June 2024 was worth 3.37 billion US dollars, up 19.01 percent compared to May 2024 which was 2.75 percent

Meanwhile, the value of non-oil and gas imports in June 2024 was worth 15.18 billion US dollars, or down 8.83 percent compared to May 2024 which was 16.65 billion US dollars.

"The decrease in the monthly import value was mainly due to a decrease in the value of non-oil and gas imports with an increase of 7.58 percent," he said in a press conference, Monday, July 15.

Meanwhile, the annual import value in June 2024 of US$18.45 billion increased by 7.58 percent compared to the same period last year of USD 17.15 billion.

Amalia said, the value of oil and gas and non-oil and gas imports in June 2024 annually increased by 47.17 percent and 1.69 percent respectively.

"The quite high increase in oil and gas imports annually was driven by an increase in the value of crude oil imports and the value of oil product imports," he said.
