Jokowi Cancels Ngantor At IKN, Ministry Of PUPR Targets Trial Of Clean Water Completed This Month

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reportedly canceled his office in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) starting in July 2024.

This is because the basic infrastructure is not ready yet, one of which is clean water.

Responding to this, Spokesperson for the Ministry of PUPR Endra S Atmawidjaja targets that the commissioning activity or clean water trial will be completed in mid-July.

"Right, this is according to our schedule in mid-July commissioning," said Endra when met at his office, Friday, July 12.

Endra explained that there are several stages that will be carried out for the trial activities, ranging from drinking water installations, transmissions to distribution networks.

All of these things will be tested by the Ministry of PUPR involving many parties and are targeted for completion on July 18, 2024.

"So, it involves many parties. So, what is called commissioning is done at the end of work, consultants, owners, then experts and operators later. All of that was tested, there was a stage that was until the 18th (July)," he said.

He ensured that if the installation of clean water and electricity went smoothly, President Jokowi would be able to have an office at IKN.

However, regarding the exact date of Jokowi's move, Endra said it was the president's direct decision.

"Yes, ask the President (Jokowi), that's it. Anyway (clean water) is ready, want to move there, ask him yes," he concluded.
