PLN Completes Phase II Electricity Supply For SMART 18.58 MVA In South Kalimantan

PT PLN (Persero) has successfully supplied 18.58 Megavolt Ampere (MVA) for the agribusiness company PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources And Technology (SMART) Tbk located in Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan.

Through the captive power acquisition program, PT SMART Tbk switched from its own generator to PLN electricity which is reliable and environmentally friendly. PT SMART Tbk is now the largest middle-voltage customer in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan.

General Manager of PT SMART Tbk unit Tarjun Friso Adinata believes that the use of PLN electricity will be more efficient and able to increase the company's productivity.

"The factory PT SMART Tbk in Tarjun was finally able to enjoy the electricity supply from PLN. Thank you for the cooperation and services, we believe by using PLN electricity, in addition to being more efficient, our production will also continue to increase," said Friso Adinata.

General Manager of PLN Main Distribution Unit (UID) of South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan (Kalselteng) Muhammad Joharifin explained, the success of the 18.58 MVA phase II electricity supply to PT SMART Tbk is a further step in the acquisition program for captive power phase I which was carried out in December 2023 with an installed power of 1.1 MVA.

Furthermore, PLN said Joharifin would increase the supply capacity to 20 MVA after the construction of the 150-kilo Volt (kV) High Volt Air Line from Tarjun, South Kalimantan to Grogot, East Kalimantan was completed.
