Sri Mulyani Claims The Performance Of The State Budget During A Decade Shows Positive Results

JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati claimed that the one-decade state revenue and expenditure budget (APBN) performance during President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) leadership showed positive results during the 20th Plenary Meeting with members of the House of Representatives (DPR), Thursday, July 4.

Sri Mulyani conveyed that as an instrument for development, in the last 10 years, the State Budget has become an important source of funding to carry out development activities, both physical and non-physical.

"Efforts to improve infrastructure and connectivity, quality of human resources, and community welfare have shown significant progress," he said, Thursday, July 4.

Sri Mulyani said that one of them is in the infrastructure sector, the State Budget has been able to create an additional 1,938 km of Toll Roads and 4,574 km of Non-Toll National Roads.

In addition, the APBN also supports the provision of raw water and irrigation to support food and energy security, has been supported by the construction of 37 dams, as well as an increase in power plants by 36.3 gigawatts.

Sri Mulyani said that the APBN also functions important in improving the quality of human resources by financing the improvement of school infrastructure which contributes to increasing rough participation from all levels of education.

Meanwhile, for the field of higher education, the State Budget through the undergraduate Fund for Education has provided LPDP Scholarships to 45,496 of the nation's best sons and daughters, so that they can achieve the best education at various universities at home and abroad.

As for the Health sector, the State Budget has been able to support Progress in the health sector, such as reducing the stunting prevalence rate from 37.2 percent in 2013 to 21.5 percent in 2023.

Sri Mulyani said that the APBN also plays an important role in improving people's welfare through reducing poverty levels from 11.25 percent in 2014 to single digits 9.36 percent in 2023.

"Extreme poverty has also decreased significantly from 6.18 percent in 2014 to 1.12 percent in 2023," he said.

According to Sri Mulyani, the APBN has become an important financing instrument in supporting Indonesia's increasing dignity and image in the eyes of the world through the holding of various meetings and international events in a very successful manner such as the Asian Games, Asian Paragames, and the IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings in 2018, the G20 Presidency Activities in 2022, the U-17 World Cup, a series of Indonesian chairmanship activities at the ASEAN Summit, and the Mandalika MotoGP activities in 2023.

"The achievements of this progress are part of the various achievements that we have achieved together in the ten years of this government," he said.

Sri Mulyani explained that this achievement is certainly not the result of the government's work alone, but is also the result of working with Council Members in supervising the implementation of the APBN, as well as community participation in carrying out and overseeing development.

"This collaboration must continue to be strengthened in order to realize optimal development achievements for the progress of the nation and state," he concluded.
