The Budget Of The Ministry Of ATR/BPN Is Far From Proposed, AHY Ngaku Sungkan Asks For Additional Budget

JAKARTA - Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said the Ministry of ATR/BPN received a budget ceiling of 2025 of IDR 6.45 trillion. AHY assessed that the budget was not sufficient.

AHY also asked for an additional budget allocation of Rp7.58 trillion. So, if approved by the DPR, the total budget allocation of the Ministry of ATR/BPN in 2025 will reach around Rp14 trillion.

"What we are proposing for 2025 is actually Rp. 14 trillion. Once again we finally became reluctant when we found out the indicative ceiling was Rp. 6.45 trillion," AHY said at a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission II of the DPR RI in Jakarta, Tuesday, June 11.

He detailed that the budget will be allocated for management support programs of around Rp. 4.27 trillion, land management and service programs of Rp. 2.03 trillion and space management programs of Rp. 143 billion.

If the proposal is not approved, AHY hopes that at least the budget in 2025 can be the same as in 2023, which is IDR 7.49 trillion.

According to him, if the proposed additional budget is not approved, his party will apply for a soft loan to the World Bank.

In the last five years, said AHY, the Ministry of ATR/BPN received a loan of around 200 million US dollars. The funds are maximized to cover budget shortages.

Furthermore, said AHY, his party is currently negotiating with the World Bank to get additional loans.

"We are discussing getting an additional 600 million US dollars. That is, the addition of three times the previous five years of soft loans for the next five years. However, we have not dared to convey it in the forum because it is still in the negotiation process. That means tackling the deficit or lack of budget needs that we propose in 2025," he said.
