The Government Has Prepared 6 Mining Lands For Ormas Management, How Is The Distribution?

JAKARTA - The government is known to have prepared 6 lands for the former Coal Mining Concession Work Agreement (PKP2B) to be managed by religious community organizations (ormas) as stated in PP number 25 of 2024.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said that later the distribution of the Mining Business Permit (IUP) area would be adjusted to the size of the organization.

"(The land distribution) is adjusted according to the size of the land with the size of the organization," Arifin told the media when met at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas Building, Friday, June 7.

Meanwhile, for mass organizations that do not apply for IUP management, the mines will be returned to the state for an open sea auction to be managed by the private sector.

"Yes, back to the country, we apply it according to existing regulations, it can be auctioned," added Arifin.

Meanwhile, for those who get IUP rights, Arifin said, the mine must be managed immediately within five years and cannot be transferred to other parties.

"He has to be done within five years. The IUP is the same, the mining IUP," he continued.
