JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) received two Management Rights Certificates (HPL) on land in Gang Buntu Village, Medan City covering an area of about 19,194 m2 and 12,722 m2.

The two lands amounted to Rp480 billion.

Meanwhile, the submission of the certificate also closed the land dispute case that had occurred since 1982 and since 2011 went to court.

The certificate was handed over by the Minister of ATR/BPN Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono to the President Director of KAI Didiek Hartantyo at the Office of the Ministry of ATR/BPN Jakarta, Thursday, May 30.

"Thank you, we convey to the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Ministry of SOEs, Regional Office of North Sumatra BPN and Medan Land Office, Medan City Government, and all parties who allow the issuance of this certificate," said KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo in an official statement, Thursday, May 30.

With legal certainty over the land, said Didiek, cooperation with the private parties occupying the land can provide a value for KAI because there are commercial buildings on the land.

Didiek said, this is the basis for the private sector to sit together to make a commercial cooperation agreement with KAI.

"So this is proof that the state is present to provide legal certainty to business entities and individuals with the issuance of this certificate. KAI has assets spread throughout Indonesia, especially in Java and Sumatra," said Didiek.

Didiek said that many assets are currently occupied or controlled by third parties who are not authorized.

For this reason, continued Didiek, KAI will continue to secure the country's assets to build the best value creation of transportation services for the Indonesian people.

"In addition to this, we will continue to carry out the certification efforts of all assets proactively. So that there is a legal certainty of land ownership, and this can really build a good land governance, and support agrarian transformation efforts carried out by the Ministry of ATR/BPN," said Didiek.

Didiek hopes that the collaboration, synergy, and harmonization of good cooperation between KAI and the Ministry of ATR/BPN can continue to be improved in order to build sustainable transportation for the people of Indonesia.
