Chronology Of The Clashes Of The Residents Of Kebon Kacang With Project Workers Until The Death Toll

JAKARTA The clash between residents of Kebon Kacang, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon, December 17, resulted in the death of one person. Tanah Abang Metro Police Chief, AKBP Aditya Sembiring said the dead victim was a land worker who was doing land clearing.

Aditya explained that the clash occurred at around 16.30 WIB. It is suspected that there were 30 residents around Kebon Kacang Village who were cleaning the land.

"So yesterday, Tuesday (17 December) at around 16.30 WIB, it is suspected that 30 residents around Kebon Kacang Village came to the workers who were clearing the land belonging to one of the companies," Aditya explained.

Then there was a commotion at that time that resulted in the death of one victim of a worker. The initials of the US victim (71) is a resident of Cakung, East Jakarta who works as an excavator operator.

"The victim was hit by a sharp object and died on the way to Pelni Hospital," said Aditya.

Aditya ensured that these clashes were not related to land disputes, because the status of land ownership was clear from the start.

"We are still investigating for sure, we are currently in the process. Then the work on this land has been running since three months ago," said Aditya.

In an effort to prevent an increasing escalation, the Police continue to guard around the crime scene involving 30 joint personnel.

Previously, members of the Tanah Abang Police were looking for 30 people involved in clashes between groups of residents and project workers in the Kebon Kacang area, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, December 17 which killed a project worker.

Tanah Abang Metro Police Chief, AKBP Aditya Sembiring explained, after it was reported that there were dead victims, his party immediately hunted down the perpetrators and examined the crime scene (TKP).

"We are currently identifying and processing the crime scene (TKP), then collecting information from witnesses who knew about the incident," said Tanah Abang Metro Police Chief, AKBP Aditya Sembiring, Wednesday, December 18.
