Heavy Equipment For The Attorney General's Building Project Falls On The Jakarta MRT Line, HK: We Apologize

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK apologized for the heavy equipment falling of the Indonesian Attorney General's Building project on the MRT Jakarta route, causing the mass transportation operation to be temporarily suspended.

EVP Corporate Secretary of PT Hutama Karya (Persero) Adjib Al Hakim said that after the incident his party immediately carried out an investigation related to the fall of the heavy equipment.

"We apologize and deeply regret the incident," he said in an official statement, Thursday, May 30.

Adjib also said that his party was coordinating with the Jakarta MRT to clean the scene so that the Jakarta MRT service could function again.

"PT Hutama Karya (Persero) will continue to inform the latest updates on handling at the scene at the first opportunity through Hutama Karya's social media account," he said.

As previously reported, heavy equipment at the construction activity of the Attorney General's Office building on Jalan Panglima Polim, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta fell. The material for the construction hit the MRT Jakarta railroad line.

The incident occurred at around 16:40 WIB. As a result, the MRT was forced to temporarily stop the operation of the entire train series.

"Because of the incident at the construction activities being carried out by the Indonesian Attorney General's Office, namely by contractor Hutama Karya, it has an impact on train operations, the operation of MRT Jakarta will be temporarily suspended," said MRT Jakarta Public Relations Ahmad Pratomo to reporters, Thursday, May 30.

After the incident, PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) fielded passengers at the nearest MRT station. Passengers can refund or refund ticket fees through the MRT Jakarta application.

Pratomo explained that the relevant team is currently handling it. MRT Jakarta is also still tracing the facilities affected by the fall of heavy equipment on the flyover.

"The estimate is still waiting for the team in the field to check the scale of the damage," said Pratomo.
