Ahead Of The 79th RI Anniversary Ceremony, KPUPR Announces IKN Development Locations Temporarily Closed

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) announced that the location for the infrastructure development of the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) was temporarily closed from public visitors.

The closure was carried out considering the large number of physical work being carried out and the heavy traffic logistics to prepare for the implementation of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day celebration in 2024.

"#SahabatPUPR who plans to visit the Nusantara State Capital (IKN) infrastructure development location, please be patient, yes. Because the location is temporarily closed from public visits until further notice," reads a statement quoted from the official Instagram account @kemenpupr, Wednesday, May 29.

The location of the IKN infrastructure development work is temporarily closed from 27 May 2024 until further notice.

Even so, official visits can still be carried out on a limited basis by referring to several conditions.

These requirements are to obtain written permission from the Head of the IKN Infrastructure Development Task Force Team, including the Head of the East Kalimantan BPPW and the Deputy for Control and Development of OIKN. Visits can be made on Thursday/Friday.

Then, the maximum number of guests is 10 people, the maximum number of vehicles is two units and always pays attention to aspects of safety, health, security, cleanliness and fragility.

Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will hold the 79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony at IKN on August 17, 2024.

The celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2024 at IKN Nusantara, East Kalimantan, became the starting point for the gradual transfer of the nation's capital city from DKI Jakarta to East Kalimantan.
