JAKARTA - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) stated that the financial statements of the Regional Secretariat of the International Organization Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) for the 2023 financial year obtained an Unqualified Opinion (WTP).

"We appreciate the hard work and dedication of all levels of the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat in achieving this WTP opinion. This opinion is proof that organizational financial management has been carried out properly and in accordance with applicable accounting standards," said BPK Secretary General Bahtiar Arif as stated in an official statement, Jakarta, Wednesday.

The report on the results of the examination was received by the Executive Director of the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat Frank Keith Griffin at the BPK Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday (20/05).

This achievement is considered to reflect the commitment and efforts of the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat in maintaining transparency and accountability in organizational financial management.

On this occasion, Bahtiar also conveyed the points of the results of the examination to the management along with recommendations for improving financial management.

A number of points submitted include reviewing the possibility of implementing the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSAS), policies and procedures related to payment of member countries' contributions that exceed the time limit, legal clarity on the use of premiums through ratification of host country agreement, to improvements in the financial reporting system.

The management of the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat who attended the meeting welcomed the results of the BPK examination and committed to completing these recommendations, and continued to improve the financial governance of the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat in the future.

In addition, appreciation and gratitude were also conveyed for the independence and professionalism of the inspection team and good cooperation during the examination.

Previously, BPK was elected as the external examiner for CTI-CFF for the financial period January 1, 2023 December 31, 2023 on Thursday, March 21, 2024. The appointment letter was submitted to the Chairman of BPK Isma Yatun by CTI-CFF Executive Director Frank Keith Griffin.
