PT PLN (Persero) has succeeded in building a new network to illuminate four villages on Timor Island, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
PLN has successfully presented 24-hour electricity for the four villages that are included in the Disadvantaged, Frontier, and Outermost (3T) areas.
Through the Main Unit of the East Nusa Tenggara Region (UIW NTT) and the Kupang Electricity Project Implementation Unit (UP2K), PLN has completed the construction of electricity infrastructure which includes a 7.81-kilometer Medium Voltage Network (JTM) circuit (KMS), a 19.81 KMS Low Voltage Network and four substations with a capacity of 50 kilovolt Ampere (kVA) with 344 potential customers.
The four villages that are now connected by PLN are Tublopo Village in South Bikomi District, North Central Timor Regency; Meusin Village in Boking District, South Middle East Regency; Kiabaat Village in South Amanuban District, South Central Timor Regency; and Maumutin Village in Raih District, Belu Regency.
The presence of PLN electricity was also warmly welcomed by one of the community leaders of Meusin Village, Imanuel Banunaek, who was finally able to feel electricity in his village.
PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, emphasized PLN's commitment to ensuring the presence of equal access to electricity for the entire community. For this reason, PLN will continue to support the government's agenda in increasing electrification throughout Indonesia, including in the Disadvantaged, Frontier and Outermost (3T) areas.
PLN continues to support the Government by expanding access to electricity evenly to all corners of the country as a tangible form of social justice for all Indonesian citizens. So it is hoped that the presence of electricity will be able to encourage improving the quality and welfare of the community," said Darmawan.
General Manager of PLN UIW NTT I Gede Agung Sindu Putra said the realization of village electricity development in NTT was one of the focuses of PLN UIW NTT as the company's commitment to illuminate to remote areas of the country. The construction of the village electricity network continues to be accelerated to accelerate the distribution of electricity to villages that have not had the opportunity to enjoy electricity.
"The acceleration of the realization of the development of village electricity networks in NTT continues to be intensified. Socialization and education to the village community about the importance of electricity and how to get access to electricity are also continuing," he said.

Sindu continued, geographical conditions such as difficult terrain and unfavorable weather do not dampen the enthusiasm of PLN officers to complete the construction of electricity infrastructure.
He also said this, thanks to the support and cooperation of various parties, including the Regional Government, Religious Leaders, Community Leaders, related agencies and the community.
"Development of the village electricity network is certainly not as easy as imagined. The struggles of the electrical fighters continue to burn, even though they encounter obstacles throughout the construction of the electricity network. The spirit to illuminate areas that are still not reached by electricity will continue to be inflamed, so that all residents can enjoy the benefits of accessing electricity without exception," he concluded.
