Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the government had set 16 new National Strategic Projects (PSN) in 2024 to be prioritized to be built this year and would not use much of the budget derived from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

Airlangga said that the PSN 16 project would be worked on by the private sector with a Government Cooperation with Business Entity (PPP) scheme.

"In the last meeting, we agreed on 16 new PSNs that do not require the state budget, the priority of the government has a significant impact and a high added value. The investment is also not small and has continued development planning," said Airlangga in the National Working Meeting for the Acceleration and Pre-Evaluation of PSN, Tuesday, May 14.

According to Airlangga, there are 16 PSNs that involve financing from the private sector because it is in line with the government's priority, which has a significant impact on the value of investment and has clear planning.

The 16 PSNs consist of 14 projects and 2 programs. The development of the new 14 PSNs was carried out in a number of areas, namely the Riau Islands, Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java, East Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, and Southeast Sulawesi.

He conveyed that the development in various sectors consists of 8 industrial areas, 2 tourism areas, 2 toll roads, 1 educational area, research and technology, health, and 1 offshore oil and gas project.

Meanwhile, the details of the construction of 16 PSN critical mineral projects with an investment value of IDR 248.75 trillion consist of downstream nickel, copper, bauxite, alumina, and iron sand into pig iron.

Airlangga said that the 16 PSNs are projected to become the pillars of the new economy in the related development area.

Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso said that there were two special programs that were included in the PSN, bringing the total to 16 PSN.

Susiwijono said the two programs were the application of toll payment technology without stopping multi lane free flow (MLFF) and the integration program of two SOE Airport operators Holding InJourney, Angkasa Pura.

"The addition is two, MLFF for toll roads, so toll roads don't need direct sensor officers, there's no need to stick it, that's also PSN, new additions. One more thing is InJourney, so a collection of several SOEs is for new projects. So, the results are flat in March, plus two more, so there are a total of 16 projects and programs," said Susiwijono.
