JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Injourney Airports) has served 6,998 prospective pilgrims from 18 flying groups or groups through 10 managed airports.

The thousands of prospective pilgrims have been dispatched on the first day of the Hajj embarkation, namely May 12, 2024. Of the 10 airports serving Hajj transportation, three of them used Makkah Route services, namely Soekarno-Hatta Airport Tangerang, Juanda Airport Surabaya, and Adi Soemarmo Airport Solo.

President Director of Injourney Airports Faik Fahmi explained, Makkah Route is a service from the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, namely in the form of transferring the immigration process for prospective pilgrims from the arrival airport, both in Jeddah and Medina, to departure airports in Indonesia.

The implementation of Makkah Route services at the three Injourney Airports airports is intended as an effort to be effective, efficient, and comfortable for prospective pilgrims.

The service has been present at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang since 2018, while at Juanda Airport Surabaya and Adi Soemarmo Airport Solo it is implemented in the implementation of Hajj Transportation this year.

"We express our gratitude to the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for providing Makkah Route services at three Injourney Airports, as well as to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Ministry of Religion for supporting the smooth operation of this service," he said in an official statement, Monday, May 13.

Through the Makkah Route service, said Faik, it is hoped that the departure process will be easier for approximately 122,000 prospective pilgrims, or 60 percent of the total number of prospective pilgrims in 2024.

Faik said the 10 airports that served the departure of prospective pilgrims on the first day of the 2024 Hajj Transport were Hang Nadim Batam Airport, Minangkabau Airport, Padang, Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport, Palembang Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang.

Furthermore, Kertajati Majalengka Airport, Adi Soemarmo Airport Solo, Juanda Airport Surabaya, Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin, Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar, and Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Airport Lombok.

Meanwhile, three other airports, namely Medan Kualanamu Airport, Sepinggan Balikpapan SAMS Airport, and Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport in Banda Aceh, are scheduled to start serving the departure of prospective pilgrims on 13, 14, and 29 May 2024, respectively.

"In general, the implementation of the departure of prospective pilgrims runs smoothly. We are committed to providing the best service during the process of organizing the embarkation and debarkation of Hajj transportation this year," said Faik.
