JAKARTA - Area Manager Communication, Relation & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Jatimbalinus Sunday Rahedi emphasized that sales of Pertamax Green 95 products since the last 10 months at 17 East Java gas stations are not to replace Pertalite products.

"Indeed, there are 17 gas stations in East Java that have sold Pertamax Green 95 products since the last 10 months, but have nothing to do with the growing issue in the community that the product is a replacement for Pertalite," said Sunday, quoted from ANTARA, Friday, May 11.

Pertamax Green 95 products are Pertamina's new products devoted to the segmentation of certain vehicles that consume fuel with RON 92 and above.

The product is formed from some vegetable compounds, namely ethanol, which comes from the sugar cane molase produced by PT Enero, a subsidiary of PTPN, so that in addition to being environmentally friendly, it is also a support for empowering local farmers.

"Not replacing Pertalite but completing the Oktan BBM variant in Gasoline, whose market has been controlled by competitors," said Sunday.

He emphasized that all gas stations in East Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara are still distributing Pertalite according to the quota set by the Government.

"In East Java, Pertalite itself is the best-selling product with consumption of 12,265 kilo liters per day. Supported by the current stock of 140,673 kilo liters, Pertalite distribution is still 10 times more safe," said Sunday.

The consumption of Pertamax Green 95 in East Java currently reaches 680 kilo liters since its launch in June 2023.

"In early last June, there were still 12 gas stations that sold, but now several new outlets are developing in Gresik, Lamongan, Mojokerto and Malang. Most of the consumers are from motorbikes and racing-type cars, because the acceleration is indeed good for this product," he said.

Pertamina Patra Niaga's Corporate Secretary, Irto Ginting emphasized that in accordance with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree No. 37.K/HK.02/MEM.M/2022, Pertalite is a Special Assignment Fuel Type (JBKP), so changes in distribution must go through government policies.

"Until now, we are still distributing Pertalite in all regions in accordance with the assignments given by the Government. So that people don't need to worry," said Irto.

Irto added that Pertamina Patra Niaga as the party carrying out the assignment to distribute subsidized fuel, is committed to continuing to follow and implement all policies set by the Government.

"In principle, we will follow and implement all government policies," said Irto.

It was recorded that until April 2024, the realization of the national distribution of Pertalite was 9.9 million Kiloliters (KL), out of the total 2024 Pertalite Quota set by the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) of 31.7 million KL.

He revealed that Pertamina Patra Niaga has also encouraged digitization for the distribution of subsidized fuel through the Proper Subsidy program.

"The Proper Subsidy Program is our effort to ensure transparency in the distribution of subsidized fuel. Through digitization, subsidized fuel distribution can be monitored in real time, and prevent potential misappropriation in the field," he said.
