JAKARTA - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, has criticized the alleged sexual assault case of the former Ngada Police Chief AKBP Fajar Widyadharma Lukman against minors. Puan assessed that severe punishment should be given to the perpetrators.

"Law enforcement in cases of sexual violence is very important, but the fulfillment of the rights of victims must also be a focus. This is also a mandate in the TPKS Law," he said again.
The former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture reminded that the majority of victims in this case are children who are still vulnerable. The victims, said Puan, have the potential to experience long-term trauma due to the perpetrator's actions.
