Pertamina Says Floods In OKU Will Not Affect Fuel And LPG Supply

JAKARTA - Pertamina Patra Niaga Sumbagsel emphasized that the flood disaster that occurred in Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra, did not interfere with the supply of fuel oil (BBM) and LPG.

"We all know that the flood disaster in OKU is quite severe, but it has no impact on the distribution of fuel and LPG," said South Sumatra's Area Manager for Communication, Relations and CSR, Tjahyo Nikho Indrawan, quoted from ANTARA, Friday, May 10.

He said residents do not need to worry about meeting energy needs in the Baturaja City area because Pertamina Sumbagsel continues to ensure that fuel and LPG stocks and supplies for the region are still in a safe condition.

"Pertamina ensures that the distribution of fuel remains smooth and there are no obstacles. So far there are nine gas stations including gas stations 24,321,112 and 24,321,141 who are on standby 24 hours," he said.

For the distribution of LPG, he said, his party will continue to coordinate with the OKU Regency Government to increase the supply of 3 Kg LPG, especially in areas that are still affected by flooding.

Pertamina has alerted all facilities such as gas stations and LPG agents as well as bases to optimize the distribution of fuel and LPG during floods in the area.

"As a form of concern, we also distribute social assistance to flood victims in Baturaja City," he said.

He added that the assistance provided was in the form of food packages for residents affected by the flood, especially the people at Ring 1 Fuel Terminal (FT) Baturaja, namely Canal Village, East Baturaja District, OKU Regency.

"There are as many as 260 families in Ring 1 Canal Village who were affected by the flood," he explained.

The assistance of 70 food packages containing rice, sugar, cooking oil, and other basic necessities was handed over directly to the Canal Village Head, Tugiono to be distributed to people in need.

"I represent the people of Canal Village who are very grateful to Pertamina for providing assistance and support. With this assistance, we feel helped because it can ease the burden on our residents," said the Head of the Canal Village, Tugiono separately added.
