Sam Ratulangi Airport Reopens, Normal Flight Activities Again

MANADO - Sam Ratulangi Airport (Samrat) activity returned to normal on Sunday, May 5 at 10.01 WITA after the eruption of Mount Ruang, Tagulandang, Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi (Sulut).

"Since it was closed on April 30 due to the spread of Mount Ruang volcanic ash, it finally returned to normal this morning," said GM Samrat Airport Maya Damayanti as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday.

Maya said the re-operation of Manado's Sam Ratulangi Airport was based on a note number A1206/24 NOTAMC A1203/24.

For today's flights, there are 19 Lion PP aircraft, two Transnisa to Sorong and Ambon, Garuda to Jakarta and Citilink to Jakarta.

Mount Ruang has a height of 725 meters that appears above sea level.

This series of Mount Ruang eruptions has been around since the 1800s and every time there is an eruption there is a hot cloud.

Therefore, it must be realized that the character of Mount Ruang is like that releasing hot clouds.

Mount Ruang di Pulau Ruang, Kabupaten Kepulauan Sitaro, rupsi terakhir tahun 2002 dan depan 22 tahun kembali erupsi tanggal 16 April 2024.
