AHY: We Have Dozens Of Operational Targets To Fight Land Mafia

JAKARTA - The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono or AHY seems to be serious about eradicating the land mafia. The reason is, AHY already has dozens of operational targets that are indicated as the land mafia. "We continue to process, we have dozens of operational targets, so I cannot dismantle one by one, because it needs a surprise too, it needs a surprise," AHY quoted Antara. AHY said that the process of taking action against the land mafia was something that the community had been waiting for, because so far, according to him, the land mafia has been the cause of unrest related to the emergence of a sense of justice in the community. "Never mind that small communities whose income is low, people who we think have high income, social and economic status are also above, but are often powerless to become victims of the land mafia. This undermines justice," he said. He said that the process of taking action and imposing strict sanctions was not only given to land mafia outside the environment of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, but that he would also clean the institution from the game of the land mafia. According to him, this effort is a commitment from the ministry he leads to provide legal certainty on land, and realize a sense of justice for the people in Indonesia.

"I declare that this applies externally and internally, why?, because we also cannot go out hard, it turns out that there are still many problems that are not resolved. We want to clean them up inside," he said. Previously, AHY said, legal certainty related to land directly can improve the Indonesian economy because it encourages investment policies. According to him, land is a fundamental thing in all aspects, so that by providing legal certainty related to land can provide attractiveness to investment.
