Commemorating May Day 2024, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan North Jakarta Distributes 580 Food Packages

JAKARTA - Thousands of workers packed the Rawa Badak Sports Hall, Rawa Badak Selatan, Koja, North Jakarta to celebrate the commemoration of International Labor Day (May Day) 2024.

The Mayor of North Jakarta Administration, Ali Maulana Hakim, said he strongly supports efforts to improve the welfare of workers or laborers.

"It is the duty, function, and role of the government, of course, to improve the welfare of the people. We always try not to worry in trying and working so as to create prosperity in terms of the community's economy," he said, at the event location, Wednesday, May 1.

Ali expressed his appreciation for the presence of thousands of workers in the 2024 May Day commemoration organized by the North Jakarta City Government together with the local Tripartite Cooperation Institute (LKS) and related stakeholders.

"This Labor Day commemoration is also a gathering between workers to get to know each other. Let's celebrate this togetherness happily," he said.

According to him, North Jakarta's LKS Tripartit is ready to accommodate all the aspirations of workers for discussion and realization according to their capacity.

"This aims to ensure that there are no concerns for anyone who runs a business and works, so as to create economic prosperity," he explained.

On the same occasion, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Jamsostek) North Jakarta gave a gift of 580 food packages to representatives of labor unions in North Jakarta during the commemoration of International Labor Day (May Day) at the Rawa Badak Sports Stadium, Koja.

In addition, on the same occasion, JKK compensation, JHT, JP and Scholarships worth Rp974,549,826 were also given to the heirs of Akhmad Irdiana from Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur and Waris Expert on behalf of Sumini from Kukuh Mandiri Lestari worth Rp. 911,074,260.

Head of the BPJAMSOSTEK Jakarta Kelapa Gading Branch Office (Kakacab), Ivan Sahat H Pandjaitan, said that the activity of providing basic necessities to workers is a series of May Day activities that are always carried out every year.

"Incidentally this year is still in the atmosphere of the Syawal Moon, therefore we hope that along with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1444 H, fellow workers can celebrate May Day in a excited condition," said Ivan.

Ivan said that after all the workers are our main stakeholders. Therefore BPJS Ketenagakerjaan congratulated fellow workers and laborers in North Jakarta.

"We certainly want to celebrate together the joy of this May Day celebration with fellow workers, so we hope that the problems that exist in the field of employment or our collaboration with fellow workers in providing services can be served properly," said Ivan.

Especially in North Jakarta, Ivan explained, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan has always collaborated intensively with the City Government or the City Leadership Communication Forum and friends of the labor alliance in North Jakarta so that for the last 3 years it has been very good. It can even be said that industrial relations are in a conducive condition.

"Indeed, we built this partnership atmosphere, so there is no (gap) distance between workers and us," explained Ivan.

Furthermore, Ivan explained, specifically BPJS Ketenagakerjaan always communicates intensively with friends from the labor union alliance in North Jakarta.

"We periodically always discuss with fellow workers. So at least once a year. That's how we build harmony in North Jakarta so that they don't have a distance (gap) with us, so that when there are problems with them related to their membership or related to our services, they can always be handled properly. So good communication and constructive that we always build with them, "concluded Ivan.
