Subsidy Fertilizer Allocation Increases To 9.55 Million Tons In 2024, Here Are The Details

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has increased the allocation of subsidized fertilizers by 4.85 million tons this year.

That way, the subsidized fertilizer quota will increase to 9.55 million tons from the previous 4.7 million tons.

The addition of subsidized fertilizer follows the issuance of the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture (Kepmentan) Number 249 of 2024 concerning the Determination of the Highest Retail Allocation and Price of Subsidized Fertilizers in the Agriculture Sector for Fiscal Year 2024.

"Stipulates the allocation of Subsidized Fertilizer in the Agriculture Sector for Fiscal Year 2024 based on the types, numbers, and distribution of provinces as stated in the Attachment which is an inseparable part of this Ministerial Decree," reads the first decision of the Ministry of Agriculture Number 249 of 2024, quoted Thursday, May 2.

Based on Ministry of Agriculture 249/2024, the allocation of subsidies is aimed at three types, namely urea, NPK, and the new is organic fertilizer.

In detail, urea fertilizer is set at 4,634,626 tons, NPK fertilizer at 4,415,374 tons including special formula NPK fertilizer, and urganic fertilizer at 500,000 tons.

In addition, the regulation set by the Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman on April 22, 2024, decided that the allocation of Organic fertilizers was prioritized in the rice commodity center area on rice fields with C-Organic content of less than 2 percent.

Still referring to the regulation, this rule also decides that subsidized fertilizers are intended for farmers who do farming in food crop sub-sectors such as rice, corn, and soybeans. Then, horticulture includes chilies, shallots, and garlic.

Then, and/or plantations such as people's sugar cane, cocoa, and coffee with a maximum area of 2 hectares are made, including farmers who are members of the Forest Village Community Institution (LMDH) in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.

Latest Subsidy Fertilizer Prices

Still referring to the Ministry of Agriculture 249/2024, the Highest Retail Price (HET) for subsidized fertilizers for the 2024 fiscal year is as follows:

a. Pupuk urea: IDR 2,250 per kilogram (kg)

b. Pupuk NPK: IDR 2,300 per kg

Badminton. Pupuk NPK formula khusus: Rp3,300 per kg

d. Organic fertilizer: IDR 800 per kg.

For farmers who want to get a subsidized fertilizer allocation, it has been regulated by the Minister of Agriculture Regulation (Permentan) Number 01 of 2024 concerning Amendments to Permentan Number 10 of 20 concerning Procedures for Determination of the Highest Retailed Pupuk Beraubsi in the Agriculture Sector.

In Article 3 paragraph 5 of Permentan 01/2024, it is explained that farmers must be members of the Farmers Group and registered in the electronic plan for the definitive needs of the group (e- RDKK).

In this new regulation, the electronic plan for definitive group needs (e- RDKK) can be evaluated every four months in the running year. In other words, farmers who have not received an allocation can input the registration process in the next four months to get a fertilizer subsidy allocation.
