JAKARTA - Ultra Micro Holding (UMi) ensures that it will not increase the interest rate of ultra micro and micro customers.

Even though last week, Bank Indonesia (BI) raised the BI 70-Day Reverse Repo Rate (BI7DRR) interest rate by 25 basis points (bps) to 6.25 percent.

"We make sure there is no increase in interest rates for Mekaar business actors. So what about micro? I haven't thought about it yet, just think about it yet," said Director of Micro Business of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), Supari in a media briefing on Ultra Micro Holding at the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 30.

Furthermore, Supari said, the nominal loan of ultra micro PNM Mekaar customers and also BRI micro credit customers was not large.

Circulating from IDR 2 million with an interest rate of 4 to 7 percent per year.

With a small nominal loan, continued Supari, if the interest is increased by 0.25 percent, it will follow the increase in the BI benchmark interest rate, the impact is not significant.

"Imagine if you borrow IDR 3 million, it continues to rise 0.25 percent a year, how many try? Very small, rupiah, and it can be covered with our efficiency efforts," said Supari.

According to Supari, the increase in the BI benchmark interest rate can be covered with the company doing efficiency. Where efficiency can be done by digitizing services, and optimizing the duties of the Mekaar PNM Account Officer (AO).

"It can be covered with our efficiency efforts. With digitization, with Mekaar AO workers being able to be served more, it has closed," he explained.

Meanwhile, PNM President Director Arief Mulyadi said, in the first quarter of 2024, Mekaar PNM had disbursed loans of IDR 44.3 trillion.

This figure grew 6.56 percent compared to the first quarter of 2023, aka year on year (yoy).

Dari penyaluran itu, sambung Arief, angka kredit macet atau non-performing loan (NPL) PNM sebesar 1,16 persen.

"As of the first quarter of 2024, 1.16 percent gross of our NPL, March. Hopefully April won't be much different, it's only a day away, right," he explained.
