GIS Departs 880 Participants Of 'Homecoming With SOEs 2024' To Four Provinces In Indonesia

JAKARTA - PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) dispatched for free 880 travelers from Jakarta, Banten, West Sumatra and Riau to various destinations in Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra and West Sumatra. Departure of homecoming participants to their respective regions is carried out in stages from Friday 5 April to Sunday 7 April using 19 units of buses.

The release of the 2024 BUMN Joint Homecoming was carried out by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir, at the Monas Cross, Jakarta, on Friday, April 5. The Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi also participated in the process of releasing buses carrying travelers. Also present at the event, General Manager of CSR SIG, Edy Saraya.

SIG's Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni, said that SIG's participation in the BUMN Mudik program is a form of Company's concern for people who want to stay in touch with relatives and relatives in their hometowns at the moment of Eid al-Fitr. In particular, for people who work as informal sector workers, such as construction staff, cleaning workers, and MSME activists.

"We are grateful that this year GIS can again participate in the BUMN Homecoming program to be part of the happiness of the community in the celebration of Eid al-Fitr in their hometowns. Hopefully this program will further strengthen relations between SIG and the community, as well as strengthen their awareness of GIS products and services that reach the wider community throughout the country," said Vita Mahreyni.

One of the participants of the free homecoming with BUMN 2024, Fauzi (43 years old), who works as a construction worker, feels very happy to be able to bring his wife, children, and parents back to their hometown in East Java, after several years of not returning home.

"Thank you very much SIG. This is very helpful for those of us who want to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in their hometown. Hopefully next year SIG can hold another free homecoming so that it can help more people," said Fauzi.

Happiness was also felt by Muhammad Yusuf (40 years old). The man who works as an AC service provider can finally take his wife and children back to his hometown.

"It's very happy to be able to go home together like this. Thank you SIG for giving me the opportunity to go home for free. Hopefully, blessings and GIS can progress," said Muhammad Yusuf.

The series of free homecoming activities carried out by GIS began on Friday, April 5, by departing 80 travelers from Jakarta with the final destination of Surabaya via the Trans Java Toll Road. On Saturday 6 April, 700 second batch of travelers departed from Jakarta and Banten (South Serang and Tangerang) to a number of cities/regencies in Central Java and East Java, including Tegal, Brebes, Grobogan, Blora, Semarang, Demak, Kudus, Pati, Rembang, Boyolali, Bumiayu, Purwokerto, Kebumen, Yoworejo, Yogyakarta, Klaten, Solo, Ngawi, Madiun, Jombang, Mojokerto, Tuban, Lamongan, Gresik and Surabaya.

Furthermore, on Sunday 7 April, as many as 60 travelers departed from Padang City, West Sumatra to Medan, North Sumatra, and 40 travelers from Dumai City, Riau, to Padang City, West Sumatra.

To ensure safety and comfort during the trip, the drivers have undergone a medical test to ensure their health condition, and ensure that the mode of transportation used meets safety and eligibility standards. In addition, GIS also provides supporting facilities for travelers, such as travel insurance (Homecoming insurance) with a maximum claim value of IDR 50 million, t-shirts, hats, medicines, goodie bags, as well as food and beverages.
