JAKARTA - Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Susiwijono Moegiarso, conveyed that the entry of Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 and the Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) area into the National Strategic Project (PSN) must obtain recommendations from the relevant Ministry.

Susiwijono conveyed that the entry of Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 into PSN was on the recommendation of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno.
"The PIK is from the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy because it is from a green destination, it is refuted, so it is not the PIK (residential) area, BSD is also not the BSD company area," he said.
He conveyed that the PIK area is a strategic project because it is a potential coastal development area or coastal area development, which includes the empowerment of mangrove tourism, more specifically called green destinations.
Meanwhile, the Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) area is recommended by the Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin to develop the health sector, especially biomedical research, to education.
"The Minister of Health has issued recommendations for the health sector, especially there is a biomedical research, but outside of that there are educational activities and so on," he said.
Susiwijono said that around 56 hectares of special areas in BSD were recommended by Budi Gunadi for the development of strategic projects.
He explained that the decision to determine 14 new PSNs, which includes PIK 2 and BSD, had been carried out and coordinated through the ministerial level Coordination Meeting (Rakor).
The results of the Coordination Meeting were re-discussed through a Limited Meeting chaired by President Joko Widodo and then implemented through the Regulation of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs (Permenko).
"The PSN starts from below, at the ministerial coordination meeting then reaches the presidential level, but the determination is to use the Permenko, different from the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), in the national council it is determined but the determination is with PP, one SEZ one PP," he said.

The area, called Tropical Coatland, will become a green-based tourism destination.
